Mandy Taylor, M.Ed, C.Psych

I am a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. I provide treatment over Telehealth (video or phone) to children, adolescents and adults. I have worked both in school settings and private practice.

I believe that successful therapy is built on a foundation of trust, respect and genuine empathy. I am dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based treatment tailored to your individual needs. Our sessions together will be focussed on developing strategies to handle difficult thoughts and feelings, so you are able to focus your attention on taking effective action towards doing the things that matter most for you.

I will help you develop flexibility and resiliency, ultimately providing you with practical skills to achieve your goals. You do not have to take this mental health journey alone.

I specialise in treating anxiety disorders (social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, phobias), depression, body-focussed repetitive behaviours (BFRBs) such as skin-picking and hair-pulling, as well as general life stressors. I also have specific expertise in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), which allows me to help clients who struggle with unwanted intrusive thoughts, obsessive doubts and compulsive behaviours.  I have experience in working with a variety of OCD themes such as: "pure-O", contamination, harm OCD, illness anxiety, existential issues, unwanted sexual obsessions (pOCD), sexual orientation OCD (hOCD), moral/religious scrupulosity, real event OCD, relationship OCD, magical thinking, and other unique OCD presentations.

I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Inferential Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (ICBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

As part of the treatment process, I may also include families to help increase family support, while reducing the accommodations that feed anxiety.

On a personal level, I have a thirst for knowledge. I believe in life-long learning and strive to engage in professional development opportunities to develop and expand my knowledge. There is always more to learn!
