Zsofia Grandpierre, M.Ed, RP, CCC
Zsofia is passionate about helping women with postpartum anxiety and depression and adults with ADHD. She provides individual counselling and psychotherapy online. She also offers workshops on parenting, stress management, and mindfulness. If you are a new mother, know that there is no shame in needing support. While this time can bring great joy, it can also be the cause of loss, shame and overwhelm. The good news is, symptoms respond well to support and treatment. If you are an adult (18+) with ADHD know that your ADHD does not define you, but it does affect your brain processes. With therapy you can work towards understanding the biological implications of ADHD, full acceptance and learn skills for improving functioning and self-regulation.
Zsofia uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and mindfulness to help clients face difficulties and arrive at a place of acceptance and wellness. She aims to establish a safe and comfortable space to explore and identify challenges and teach new skills to cope with difficult emotions and thoughts. Working collaboratively, she guides clients to connect to their values and take committed actions towards what is most meaningful to them.
Education and Experience
Zsofia received a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology and an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Art History from the University of Ottawa. She is a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO) and Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCPA). From 2011-2018, she worked in the mental health outpatient unit at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). In this role she developed and delivered eight-week intervention programs to youth (aged 13-21) struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation. Additionally, she worked part-time at Youth Services Bureau’s Mental Health Walk-In Clinic as a youth and family counsellor. In her private practice she has focused her work and training on supporting individuals with postpartum anxiety and depression and adults with ADHD. Zsofia is also a mindfulness and self-compassion teacher and has run programs at the University of Ottawa, Algonquin College, Abbottsford Senior Centre, and CHEO.
